We understand that for some families to escape the circle of poverty there is a basic need for at least one member of the family to gain employment.
Therefore, we help train the country’s youth by supporting some in the local technical college, giving them the opportunity to be upskilled and gain a foot on the employment ladder. There are, for example, excellent welding courses where students gain skills that can be used in the local sugar mills or perhaps they can establish their own small business making fences or gates.
They say that for every one person employed, it helps a further ten people in terms of family support. Hilltops provides employment and holds seminars to assist people in writing CVs and advises them on job interview techniques, created specifically to enhance their prospects of gaining employment.
